Pores: First glance at the city of Toronto

by Alexandra Gelis
October 1 - 22, 2007

Tinto Coffee House, 89 Roncesvalles Ave, www.tinto.ca

Toronto, varied colors and smells of the city. Sounds in which you can hear blocks and blocks of several languages that are woven with a variety of accents. Mi gaze through the lens focused for a long time on the light poles, holders of cultural, social, political activities, recipients of information for the community and even notes of love and disaffection.

Everyday the material changes as the city flows, and it merges like the city does. Under all those layers of information sometimes you can see the pole's "skin" showing you layers of staples like a visual memory of the postings, city pores breathing with millions of stories of migrations from all over the world.
