El objetivo general para la curaduría del evento digital'07 es el de enmarcar la exhibición en torno al concepto de "Actualización", resaltando con este concepto las posibilidades que brinda la red como dispositivo para la gestión de la información y las implicaciones contextuales que plantea para la concepción de la realidad y los sistemas cooperativos sociales. Para la realización de las diferentes muestras que componen el evento la propuesta formal giró en torno a tres ejes: Aproximaciones Artísticas Desde La Programación, Tendencias Imbricadas En Internet, Las Sociedades Emergentes En La Red.
El grupo de curadores del colectivo e-fagia se encargó de llevar a cabo la exhibición y contactar a otros curadores que nos sirvieran de apoyo para reforzar la muestra. La investigación académica para la propuesta general del evento digital'07 estuvo a cargo de Jorge Marulanda y Arlan Londoño. Como resultado de las relaciones establecidas este año, tenemos como curadores invitados a Lila Pagola y Miguel Rojas Sotelo, quienes con sus aportes nos han brindado una visión que nos ha servido para ampliar los objetivos planteados por el colectivo.

The general objective of the curatorial work for digital event'07 is to frame the exhibition within the concept of "Actualization". The concept of "Actualization" helps to highlight the possibilities the web has to offer as a mechanism for information management, and the contextual implications it has for the conception of reality and cooperative social systems. The formal proposal for the composition of the different shows that are featured in digital event'07 revolved around three axes: Artistic approaches to programming, Imbricate trends on the Internet, and Emergent societies on the net.
E-fagia's curatorial group was in charge of the organization of the exhibition and contacted other curators to act as support to reinforce the show. Academic research for the general proposal was carried out by Jorge Marulanda and Arlan Londono. As a result of the contacts and relations we have established this year, we have invited curators Lila Pagola and Miguel Rojas Sotelo, who have contributed their vision to help us go beyond the objectives set by the collective.

Chimeras and Corporeal Minds
Existing as nomads, artists are able to re-appropriate the means of artistic production and locate themselves, temporally, at the center of the production of sense. How artist as political subjects are able to change conceptions concerning production, circulation, and consumption of the art object? What is paradoxical here is the fact that, in many cases, we are facing an absence of the art object or at least, a re-elaboration of its means and ends. We are witnessing how the everyday has been taken over the art world and vice versa.

Los artistas llegamos a los blogs y otros sistemas de autoedición (la llamada web 2.0 o internet social) quizá un poco más tarde que otros usuarios: alejados de la tecnología por distancia disciplinar, prejuicios y otras variables; incluso para los "artistas digitales", el manejo de las herramientas fue una de las fronteras (y también espacio de experimentación y descubrimiento) para estar en línea.

Artists arrived to blogs and other self editing software (the so-called web 2.0 or social internet) perhaps a little later than other users: aloof from technology due to disciplinary distance, prejudices, and other variables, the use of these tools was a barrier to overcome in order to be on line, even to "digital artists" (and it also was a space for experimentation and discovery).

Charla con Curadores :
Durante el proceso de realización del evento digital'07 , el colectivo e-fagia se ha contactado con otros festivales, grupos de artistas y académicos. Como primer objetivo de este contacto hemos establecido relación más cercana con artistas y grupos de artistas radicados en la ciudad de Toronto. Para fortalecer dicho objetivo, este año hemos decidido comenzar con una serie de charlas con artistas que hacen labor de curadores y curadores que de un modo u otro trabajan con medios electrónicos o nuevos medios.
En nuestra primera charla tenemos como curadores invitados a Jorge Lozano, Vicky Moufawad-Paul, Ulyses Castellanos, Ricardo Rozental y Elvia Sáenz. Jorge es director artístico y curador de Alucine Festival, Vicky es directora de programación de la galería Aspace y curadora del Festival De Cine Árabe, Ulyses es artista y curador que trabaja con diversos medios y grupos, Ricardo y Elvia son los propietarios y directores Tinto Coffee house. >>> |

Curators Talk:
During the making of digital event'07, e-fagia collective has contacted other festivals and artistic and academic organizations. As a first step we have been able to establish a closer relationship with artists and groups of artists residing in the city of Toronto. In order to strengthen this link, this year we have decided to start a series of talks with artists who also act as curators and curators who in one way or another deal with electronic or new media.
In our first talk we have invited curators Jorge Lozano, Vicky Moufawad-Paul, Ulyses Castellanos, Ricardo Rozental and Elvia Sáenz. Jorge is the artistic director and curator of Alucine Festival, Vicky is the programming coordinator of Aspace gallery and curator of the Arab Film Festival, Ulyses is an artist and curator working with different media and organizations, Ricardo and Elvia are the owners and directors of Tinto Coffee House. >>>
