Presentación
Evento digital comenzó como un espacio para la reflexión sobre el arte en la red, pero después de la realización del primer evento nos dimos cuenta de que la relación de los artistas con la red y los medios de expresión electrónicos era muy compleja y cubría aspectos que nos parecían interesantes y que se nos podrían escapar si continuábamos con el solo objetivo de trabajar arte en la red. Por este motivo decidimos que el evento digital'07 esté conformado no solo por arte en la red, sino que también incluya todas las manifestaciones que involucran los medios, los nuevos medios y el/ los formatos electrónicos. Para la realización del evento digital'07 decidimos que sería necesario trabajar en torno a tres objetivos. El primer objetivo es metodológico y consiste en enmarcar la muestra en la intención y la misión generales del colectivo: la de trabajar con la red que envuelve las nuevas tecnologías. El segundo objetivo es teórico y en él se decidió enmarcar la muestra en torno al concepto de "Actualización", una vieja propuesta de reflexión que deambulaba en el colectivo, y que permite enfocar el NetArt desde la interacción de los seres humanos y los sistemas de información. El tercer objetivo, el objetivo práctico, es el de desarrollar conexiones con otros grupos de investigación.
En la presente versión de evento digital hemos sido fieles al objetivo y a la misión de nuestro colectivo en cuanto a propiciar la integración y el intercambio entre los diferentes sectores que se dedican a la creación o al estudio de la imagen y el arte en su relación con la cultura y la sociedad, así como sus conexiones con la redes que envuelve las nuevas tecnologías.
En cuanto al objetivo teórico, este es la continuación de la investigación comenzada con el pasado evento. El concepto de "Actualización", ayuda a resaltar las posibilidades que brinda la red como dispositivo para la gestión de la información y las implicaciones contextuales que plantea para la concepción de la realidad y los sistemas cooperativos sociales. Para la realización de las diferentes muestras que componen el evento digital'07 la propuesta formal giró en torno a tres ejes: Aproximaciones Artísticas Desde La Programación, Tendencias Imbricadas En Internet, Y Las Sociedades Emergentes En La Red.
Nuestro objetivo de desarrollar conexiones con otros grupos de investigación y otras manifestaciones artísticas nos ha permitido involucrarnos con diferentes sectores para la consolidación de actividades tendientes a la investigación y la gestión. El colectivo e-fagia ha establecido contacto con otros festivales, grupos de artistas y académicos, no solo en Canadá sino en Latinoamérica y otras partes del mundo. Como resultado de las relaciones establecidas durante el proceso de realización del evento digital'07 , este año tenemos como curadores invitados a Lila Pagola y Miguel Rojas Sotelo, quienes con sus aportes nos han brindado una visión que nos ha servido para ampliar los objetivos arriba planteados.
En este punto quisiera aclarar que durante la realización de este proyecto los textos propuestos serán susceptibles de cambio puesto que no pensamos el proyecto como una forma cerrada. En otros se añadirán reflexiones provocadas a partir del mismo proyecto.
Para finalizar deseo agradecer la ayuda prestada durante el último año a Jorge Lozano y Alucine Festival quienes han participado y colaborado con nosotros desde un comienzo; a Raúl Moarquech Ferrera-Balanquet quien nos brindó su apoyo desde nuestros inicios y a los participantes de la bienal Interactiva'07; a Alexandra Gelis por su ayuda con el diseño; al personal de la galería XPACE; a Ricardo Rozental y Elvia Sáenz, directores de Tinto Coffee House; a Patricio Dávila por su contacto con OCAD, y en general a todos los artistas, curadores y académicos por su participación en el evento digital'07 .

Digital event started as a space for reflection about art in the web, but after the convening and completion of the first event we realized that artists' relation to the net and electronic media as a means of expression is very complex and includes interesting aspects that could be missed if we focused solely on working with web art. Because of this, we decided that digital event'07 should include not only net art, but all kinds of expressions that involve media, new media and/or electronic formats.
In carrying out digital event'07 we decided it would be necessary to focus on three objectives. The methodological objective consists in framing the show within the collective's general goal and mission: working with the net that encompasses new technologies. The theoretical objective is to create the show around the concept of "actualization", an idea that had been around in the collective for a long time, and that will allow us to view NetArt from the point of view of the interaction between humans and information systems. The practical objective consists in establishing links with other research groups.
In the present edition of digital event we have been faithful to the goal and mission of the collective, fostering exchange and integration between different sectors dedicated to the creation or study of images and art in relation to culture and society, as well as their connection to the net and new technologies.
Our theoretical objective it is the continuation of an investigation that started during the last digital event. The concept of "Actualization" helps highlight the possibilities the web has to offer as a mechanism for information management, and the contextual implications it has for the conception of reality and cooperative social systems. The formal proposal for the composition of the different shows that are featured in digital event'07 revolved around three axes: Artistic approaches to programming, Imbricate trends on the Internet, and Emergent societies on the net.
Our objective of establishing connections with other research groups and other artistic expressions has led to involvement with different sectors to consolidate activities related to research and organization. E-fagia collective has established contact with other festivals, artistic and academic organizations, not only in Canada but also in Latin America and other parts of the world. This year we have invited curators Lila Pagola and Miguel Rojas Sotelo, who have contributed their vision to help us go beyond the objectives set by the collective.
I wold like to point out that during this project the proposed texts will be susceptible to changes because we don't think of the project as a closed entity. We will also add reflections to some of them that stem out of this same project.
